Om ni vill hjälpa Brian Saunders (samlare av ovanliga Bally em spel)och Jay Stafford (samlare och IPDB-moderator) att förbättra tillförlitligheten i uppgifterna om antal tillverkade spel. Även för de spel med uppgifter som anges som "confirmed" i antal tillverkade spel, så har det hittats spel med högre serienr än vad som har sagts vara tillverkade.

Brian och Jay söker världen över efter serienr för Bally's em-speloch ev tidiga ss-spel. Jag ska ta ett snack med Brian om att de ska låta det här arbetet sträcka sig upp till det årtal då Bally ändrade på sitt smidiga serienummersystem (jag tror att det var 1985).

Hi Dan,
 nice to hear from you again, I thought you'd vanished or something.
 All I was wanting you for was to let you and your Swedish collector friends know that recently there was a joining of forces between myself and another Bally collector Jay Stafford who is with the IPDB, to start collecting the Bally serial numbers of existing machines. What our mission is is to
collect enough data to eventually post the high and low numbered existing machine of each model right on the IPDB site with it's respective information. What we've been finding out since we began this about 4 months ago is that there are some "ringer" machines out there, these are what we call ones that
exceed the production figures we've seen published that are posted as "confirmed" on the site. So far I've got 8 different
models of EM machines that exceed these numbers.
 We've also been given others that are stamped over--one serial number on top of another, some have metal plates with numbers on them
and Bally logos imprinted in them, and even I myself have recently picked up a Bali Hi machine that has NO serial numbers anywhere on it. I also know of an owner of a Mata Hari
EM with no numbers either.
 When we run across a machine like these, we ask for a close-up digital picture to verify the information and then keep it on file with the email address ONLY for our records. Otherwise, any contributions we receive
and file will have the owners name and email shaded out when copying to a data disc for IPDB use.
 We'd love to have yours and your club member's numbers whenever you have the chance to get the word out. Jay and I both happened to find each other while trying to search out
this serial number mystery independently, and now we've joined together and can log them in twice as fast. Since we both shared a love of EM Ballys and especially the zipper flipper
games, (he's got a few and wants more!) we've turned this project up to full steam.
 Jay normally will contact each ebay
seller who's selling a Bally, including the European sellers too, and ask them for their serial number. I cruise the Mr. Pinball pages each day and run down all the contacts I've
gotten over the years to ask them in turn to contact their fellow collectors and contribute. We appreciate any efforts you can lend in our behalf.

OM ni är osäkra på var serienumren sitter instansat på dessa spel så tittar ni på kabinettets sidor, strax under sidoplåten närmast mot flipperknappen (numret sitter oftast på vänster sida). Sen så sitter numret även stansat högst upp på ena sidan av toppboxen. Bally's elektromekaniska flipperspel har bara fyra serienummersiffror, och elektroniska flipperspel har en till tre bokstäver och fyra till fem serienummersiffror
För de elektroniska flipperspel som var avsedda för europamarknaden så var första bokstaven i serienumret ett E. t.ex. ESA 2365 betyder då E(uropean) S(pace) I(nvaders) nr 2365.
