A lot has been going on in the "Future of Pinball" universe, so I thought I'd send out an update...- First and foremost, creation of the DVD is moving forward. I just returned from Chicago where I recorded a commentary track for the DVD from several of the people who participated in the film: Roger Sharpe, Tom Uban, Cameron Silver, and Duncan Brown. They provide a lot of great insights and I know their commentary track will be an excellent addition to the disc. There are still a few uncertainties left in the schedule, but I'm shooting for a late Summer release to members of the mailing list. I'll be sure to keep you posted!- A recent showing of "The Future of Pinball" at the San Francisco Documentary Festival proved very successful. The movie was one of the top-sellers of the festival and was very well-received by attendees. Best of all, as a result of the festival showing, some marketing opportunities have opened up. The first is coming up soon, where "The Future of Pinball" will be showing for a week at the Clinton Street Theater in Portland, Oregon from June 30 through July 6. (The theater is closed on July 4, so please don't come then!) I will be in attendance for all Friday and Saturday showings (7 and 8:30pm) and will be holding a Q&A session at the end of each showing. Best of all, a local pinball club will be sponsoring a dozen pinball machines in the theater lobby so you'll have a chance to indulge in some play while learning a bit more about the industry that produced them. (There's some sort of tournament being held from noon to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday...keep checking the Clinton Street Theater web site for details.) If you're in the Portland area, please stop by and introduce yourself. And bring your friends! It should be a great time.- If you're in the Bay Area, I'll be speaking at the California Extreme video game and pinball show on Saturday, July 8. I don't know what time I'll be presenting yet, but when I find out I'll be sure to let you know. At this session I'll be showing some highlights from the film and talking about the process of making the movie from start to finish. That's it for now, but there should be a lot more news in the coming months. Thanks very much for your continued support,Greg
