The weekend before IFPA, on June 1st-3rd, the Northwest pinball championships will be taking place in the Seattle area. This is one of the largest tournaments in the country and has consistantly generated a huge prize pool! The NWPC is being held in Marysville Washington, just north of Seattle. Dear pinball lovers:
The reason of this message is to inform you about Madrid Pinball Open (TMAP) and to start with the news of the EPC.
We are going to celebrate the fourth Edition of Madrid Open. It has benn planned to be organiced next 12th and 13th of May. There are 80 places avalaible to compete. There will be two tournaments as usual: Classics and Moderns. Prizes for the first four players in both competitions. Also we will have Sunday-non-clasificated mini tournaments with prizes for the winners. Let me know if you or players in your countries would like to enjoy that weekned in Madrid playing pinball.
EPC will take place in Madrid in mid September. Exactly dates will be comunicated soon. We have found a centrical buliding close to Manzanares River to dispute the Championship. It suppose no need to rent cars, because public transportation (Metro) is available from the airport to the place. Hope to reach more than 150 players. Countries tournament will be played friday night and main event during saturday (all day) and sunday morning. Please also let me know about your intention of coming to play.
Please pass this message to players you know from other countries. Will be glad to add them to my facebook, to inform ev'body about both events. Thanks in advanced. Alex

This message is just for asking you to spread out EPC 2012 dates, so the people may start to make plans. As said, it will be on September 14-16. We'll have national teams competition, classics and main tournament. Here at Spain there are many fans whose pinball "golden memories" are related to EM pins, therefore with the inscription, whose amount is yet to be determined, you earn the right of participating in both classics and main tournament. Thus this means that classics competition will have more a tournament format that the usual "pay per play" of former EPCs. And expect most (if not all) classic pins to be spanish, in fact here we own very few EMs made outside our frontiers. We're working to have a website online in one month or so, and the inscription should be starting about the 3rd week of march, if there are no problems. Josh and Martin, please, give notice of the tournament in your websites. Martin, the address of the venue is Paseo de la Chopera, 14 28045 Madrid . (It's the old Madrid's slaughterhouse  , used since 1996 as cultural complex) Most of the tasks (rules, schedule, etc) are yet to be completed, but if you want ask anything don't hesitate doing it. Josh mailade nyss, och påstod att Canada har en deltagare mer med i tävlingen än vad vi har. Jag trodde naturligtvis inte på honom, men han skickade över en lista:

Till att börja med har staten alltid rätt att konfiskera utrustning som används för brottslig verksamhet. Det gäller lika mycket när du använder din frus hårspänne för att dyrka upp en dörr som när du ställer ut ett flipper utan tillstånd.

Mynttelefoner, bollhav och hoppborgar går inte under automatspelslagen. Myntopererade biljardbord kanske gör det dock. Flipperspel gör det garanterat.

Ett icke förhandlingsbart krav när vi flyttade ihop var en trea. Faktiskt inte för flipprens skull, utan för att hon inte ville ha mina datorer i vardagsrummet eller sovrummet. Med åren så har datorvärlden blivit molnbaserad och virtualiserad, så nu räcker det med en laptop och en fet server med virtuella burkar på. Alltså byttes datorerna ut mot flipper med tiden.
Så länge de står i mitt rum så är det ju inte hennes problem. Så länge jag ljud- och luktisolerar, så kan jag ha en flock kor inne i mitt rum om jag vill. Numera har vi en fyra, eftersom hon ville ha ett gästrum. Våra mödrar turas om att bo där, varsin gång om året... Skaffar vi barn, så får det bli en femma (eller så får morsan sova i soffan en gång om året).
Vad gäller pengarna, så är svaret enkelt. Köp spelen för dina egna pengar. Om du inte har några egna pengar, så har jag full förståelse för att hon har synpunkter på vad ni gör med era gemensamma pengar. Dock finns det argument även där - flipperspel är den bästa investeringen jag har gjort (mest eftersom det är den enda investeringen som inte har gått med minus).

Eric Rousseau is organizing 2 pinball tournaments on the 24 and 25th march 2012. As for the car racing challenge that takes place in "Le Mans" which consists of driving 24H long, the main tournament is based on the same principle, in a very nice place just near the mythic racing circuit in "Le Mans". - The main tournament will begin at 3 pm Saturday, March 24th, 2012 and will end on Sunday, March 25th, 2012 at 3 pm. All pinball machines will be set on free play, only the 4 best scores on each pinball machine will award points. The best ranked player will win a pinball machine ! - The satellite tournament will be a classic one and will be held on sunday.
