Kristiania Flipperselskap is looking forward to hosting the fourth edition of XMAS Matchplay Tournament 6 - 8 December!
This is a week before the epc classic in Borås, but in case some of you swedes just cant get enough this is a good warmup and we would be very happy to see you
We have a location in Lørenskog, just outside Oslo, where we will host a total of 3 tournaments over the weekend as previous years.
It is 20 minutes with bus from Oslo busterminal, and there is also a hotel right by the location if you want to stay close:

MAIN FORMAT:
All players are divided into groups of four (or three) by IFPA ranking and will play 3 machines and gather points, 7-5-3-1.
For each new round new groups are made tiered swiss style, where the player field are split based on points and you got a new group where you will meet other players in the same points field.
Within each field, the seed is slaughter style. The player with most points in upper field will be in a group with the player who has least points within the upper field, and same for the lower field(s).
After seven rounds, the main qualifications are finished and top 16 players advance to playoff on sunday.
SIDE TOURNAMENT FORMAT

SURPRISE MATCHES
Two times during the weekend four players will be randomly picked to play one game on a randomly chosen machine. The winner will recieve a prize!
WARMUP TOURNAMENT
Format: Round robin with group playoffs
The field of players are divided into two or four groups (to be decided), based on ifpa rank seeding, and will play a single match (or two, if groups of
against all other players in their group. Machines will be chosen by matchplay, and each group will have their own machine bank. Top 4 players in each group (but max 50%) will advance to semifinals.
Semifinals:
Topp 4 from each group will be split into two groups, and play 4 machines, scoring 4-2-1-0. Machines will be prechosen for both groups, well in advance of the tournament. Top two players advance to finals.
Finals:
4 player matchplay on four prechosen machines, from both the original machines banks. Scoring 4-2-1-0
